Congratulations to the Issaquah 11 All Stars
Winners of the 2005 STATE SOFTBALL TITLE

The "Flame", Issaquah's 11 year old All Star team was selected from Issaquah's four Majors softball teams after the regular 2005 season ended. With three weeks of practice under their belts the Flame went undefeated through the District 9 Championship series held in Redmond to take the District 9 title. They then moved onto the state tournament which began two weeks later in Lynnwood. The Flame won their first game of the state tournament against District 8 (Seattle)15-1, but went down 6-4 to a tough and also undefeated District 10 team from Kent in their second game. This placed Issaquah in the loser's bracket of the double elimination tournament and meant they now needed to win every game to remain in the tournament, and would play every day for five days in a row. There was no doubt Issaquah had a tough battle ahead. In game three the Flame again defeated District 8 who had the day before been winners of the first game within the loser's bracket. The Flame would now play, and need to beat, the undefeated Kent team twice in order to win the championship. A determined Issaquah team came back in the fourth game and stunned Kent with a very decisive 27-13 victory. The state championship now came down to the final game between two teams that each had only one loss in All Star post season play. Issaquah's Flame played an outstanding final game and defeated Kent 14-1 to bring the State Championship to Issaquah. A hard earned and well deserved CONGRATULATIONS go to the ISSAQUAH FLAME!
